The pages of the Web site www.sanvirila.com have been designed and reviewed in accordance with the guidelines defined in the document "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0", drawn up by the WAI working group, belonging to W3C. The aim of these guidelines is to facilitate access to the information provided via the Internet to all citizens. Among the main measures that have been taken are the following:

Standards

The language used for the contents and their structure is HTML 4.01, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) have been used to make the elements available and present them graphically. All the pages have been validated as HTML 4.01 and CSS 2.0.

Images

All the images contain a brief description using the attribute alt.

Links

All the links contain a description using the attribute title.

Text size

The fonts used are relative in size, which enables the user to control their size via the browser they are using.

Navigation

The Web site facilitates consistent navigating by maintaining the same structure on all its pages.

This structure comprises the following:

• A horizontal navigation bar on the upper part of the pages with links to the Web site's main menu.
• A vertical navigation menu located in the right margin, from where secondary sections of each menu may be accessed, printed and the text size increased/reduced.
• Another horizontal navigation bar on the lower part of the pages, from where the following sections may be accessed: Online Resources, Web Map, Legal Notice, Privacy Policy, Accessibility and Contact.
• A central zone displaying the contents themselves of the Web site.

Design

This Web site uses layers and cascading style sheets (CSS) for the visual design of the pages. Thus, the content is separate from the presentation and users who so wish may navigate around the information by disabling the download of style sheets on their browser.

Level of accessibility

The Web site www.sanvirila.com has been validated using TAW and W3C Markup Validation Service tools. The level of accessibility attained is Double A (AA), and Triple A in compliance with some standards (AAA). The following icons certify that the design of the Web site complies with the aforementioned accessibility requirements.

Conformity with the syntax specified by W3C for CSS 2.0 style sheets. 

Conformity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, with Double A, in accordance with WAI.
